My husband and I are both East Coast natives and have always felt drawn to the abundant, natural beauty of the Northwest as well as handwork, medicinal herbs, slow food, permaculture, literature, children and a handmade life rich in its connection to the spiritual world.

Brigid is a certified teacher and Master Teacher of the Riggs method of phonics instruction.  Her love of teaching and reading has led her to her latest adventure called Hobbit House Tutoring.  Children thrill to discovering the joys of reading and writing in the warmth of the Hobbit House.

​Portland is a city with a wealth of inspiration and fertile ground for all these interests and pursuits. 

​Eighteen years ago we were blessed to be able to purchase a mid-century ranch on one acre on the edge of Portlandia and have been chasing and living the dream of an urban farm ever since. Gratitude and cedar trees abound!​​
